9 Basic and Essential Makeup Tools

I had planned on doing a Brush post ever since I started this blog back in April but after being emailed for about 4-5 times to do a brush post, here it is! hehe! :D

For this post, I’m only going over the basic makeup tools we need for PERSONAL use! A professional brush set would require maybe more than 20 different brushes, and 2 sets of those (that’s over 40 brushes!) but maybe I can make a post on that next time if the need arises. :D For the basics, I’ve found that I only ever need 9.

How to Create Double Eyelids using Makeup

I remember in high school where almost 99% of the students were Chinese, a lot of my classmates would be complaining about not having double eyelids (we used to call it “ting sun” or “fold”) so you’d see some teenage girls walking around with scotch tape in their lids. Save vs. Splurge: Brush Cleaners

Hello and welcome to my first ever Save vs. Splurge post on Hellobeauty.ph!

Today’s item: Makeup brush cleaners!

Everyone who loves makeup has makeup brushes. And everyone who has makeup brushes know how valuable these little babies are. With prices ranging from Php. 300 to Php. 3,000, makeup brushes are irreplaceable to beauty aficionados like us.

Some of my beloved brushes (*u*)

So considering how important our brushes are… should we clean them with a Professional Brush Cleaner? or will the kitchen-staple Extra Virgin Olive Oil suffice?

MAC Brush Cleaner | Extra Virgin Olive Oil | (for whatever brush cleaner you use, always lather + rinse with baby shampoo after!)

As an example, I’ll be using my MAC Brush Cleaner which costs around Php. 680.00 and my Dona Elena Extra Virgin Olive Oil which costs less than Php. 100.00.

So which brush cleaner wins? Should you save or should you splurge?
