How to Change The Shape of Your Eyes Using Eyeliner

I have to admit, there are days when I like looking like a doll. And there are days I like looking super oriental. I think I’ve resolved to myself that cosmetic surgery will forever be beyond me (and my mother!) so I try to be creative by thinking of ways for my look to match my mood using makeup!

Today, I’ll be showing you 5 looks you can try using your eyeliner (or matte black eyeshadow for an easier time)

Take a look!

What you’ll need:

  • black eyeliner (pencil is easiest to use, then gel, then liquid. Personally, I prefer using a wet eyeliner brush and a matte black eyeshadow! It’s less messy and more smudge-proof too!)

1.) The Arch

This is the simplest look I’m sure everyone does! Extend it just a wee bit longer than your eye if you want slimmer looking eyes. Just trace your upper lash line and see your eyes expand O_O This is versatile eyelining trick is perfect for any look!

2.) The Full Dolly

Outline your entire eye with your black eyeliner, making sure to thicken the line on the outer edges of the eye. Make sure to keep your the edges rounded for a more doll-like effect.

3.) The Half Dolly

This is just a variation of the full dolly. The only difference is that you only outline until the outer half of the lower lash line. Do this if you want to have less intense doll eyes.

4.) The Slanted Cat

My favorite! Outline the eyes in such a way that it the line goes from thicker to thinner from the outer edges to the inner corners. If you want to have a flirty look to your makeup, try this!

5.) The Antelope

lol! Doesn’t the shape of the outline look like an antelope? Anyway! For this look, be sure to outline only from the inner corner to the middle part of the bottom lash line. (Skip the outer edges of the bottom lash line for this one!) This is a nice look for when you want your eyes to look cute and small.

thanks for these tips! i’ll try all, though i usually go for the slanted and arch. must confess have not tried the antelope, and then the dolly, might be too intense for me cuz i have deep seated eyes, bka for me, Halloween effect lang, hahah! but u usually create this using black eyeshadow??

hi!! haha!! ya i used black eyeshadow kase it’s easier to handle a brush for precise eye lining :) and no naman! try the dolly then nude lips para balanced :D

  • Maricar

well, i was trying for slanted sana last night however, maybe my pencil was not right un angle or not sharp, i ended up going with the arch look na lang, and i just needed cotton buds to correct my mistakes…what do you use ba when u need to correct something sa eyes? cotton buds din? btw, unrelated to this post, but what’s d correct thing to do? concealer first the foundation OR foundation first then concealer?

when i correct something, i usually use either my fingers or a cotton pad with a little bit of non-oily makeup remover :D cotton buds is useful din naman!

i think foundation before concealer is better! sometimes kase when you put concealer under the foundation, the concealer tends to rub off D:
