Skin Care for Oily Skin: The 3 Things You Should Know

When I took a bit of a break from blogging, it also just so happened that I also took a break from skin care. Wait! Don’t get me wrong! I still washed my face at night and removed my makeup after the day was done! But I got lazy to do the other skin care steps like serum and eye cream and toner and whatnot. So for about one month, I’ve only been washing my face and putting on some moisturizer…

and honestly, my acne-prone face has been cleared of acne and it has never looked better!!!

So I started to go about my days with only 2-steps to my skincare routine aside from the REALLY long one I had before -> Cleanse + Moisturize/SPF

After that I got really pissed at myself for being a “capitalist slave” (lol) and always succumbing to the claims of companies that WHEN YOU USE THIS PRODUCT, 99% OF ACNE GO AWAY! or that NO MORE WRINKLES AFTER 7 DAYS! … I just thought “well, if that was true, everyone should have clear skin by now. and no one would be aging…lol”

Honestly, I feel like the only ingredients that work for anti-acne skincare are Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid and Retinol. that’s it. And those usually come very affordable without the insignificant ingredients in harsh toners or serums.

Here are the 2 things you will need to remember when dealing with oily skin…

I went to the Neutrogena event last June 8, 2012 for the launch of the new Hydro Boost products! If you’ve got OILY/COMBINATION SKIN like me, read on! This will be the best ever moisturizer for you!

Review: Neutrogena Acne Stress Control 3-in-1 Hydrating Treatment Moisturizer with Salicylic Acid

I went through the whole May with a lot of acne all over my face! Honestly I think it was because I kept on trying on new products to be reviewed and also because I’ve was busier than I have ever been in almost a year! Stress can do that to you. le sigh!

I was looking for the perfect moisturizer that could also act as an anti-acne product. I couldn’t find anything locally so I decided to check on Amazon.com (the trustiest online shop in the world!)

True enough, Neutrogena USA has a new anti-acne line called Acne Stress Control. All of the products have 2% Salicylic Acid on it so it saves a lot of time for spot-treating your acne one by one!

9 Basic and Essential Makeup Tools

I had planned on doing a Brush post ever since I started this blog back in April but after being emailed for about 4-5 times to do a brush post, here it is! hehe! :D

For this post, I’m only going over the basic makeup tools we need for PERSONAL use! A professional brush set would require maybe more than 20 different brushes, and 2 sets of those (that’s over 40 brushes!) but maybe I can make a post on that next time if the need arises. :D For the basics, I’ve found that I only ever need 9.

I’ll also be answering questions about brush sets and which are the best etc etc! :D

Here are the 9 tools you need in detail:

Hello Beauty Asks: What’s the Worst Product You Have Ever Bought?

I think everyone will go through an experience of buying something on impulse, then heading home and realizing how much you could have saved if you didn’t give in and buy that product!

I was looking for a sunblock one day and I came across Shiseido. Not a stranger to the brand’s sunblock lotions, I assumed that just because it’s Shiseido it should be good. Nope! How wrong I was…! /facepalm

This is just the worst sunblock I’ve ever come across! It leaves a blue-white cast THAT DOESN’T GO AWAY! It broke me out too! And another thing why it just annoys me is because it set me back Php. 2,500.00 :( what a waste of good money :( Well now I just use it for my body and not for my face. le sigh!

What are your horror stories with regards to a beauty product? What’s the absolute worst product you have ever bought? Comment below! :D

Beauty on a Budget Review: Prestige Browliner

Hi everyone! Sorry for the sort-of-long hiatus!

Anyway I’m back with a new review! And I’m sure you guys will LOVE this!!

Yesterday I went over to Shang to have dinner and scout a few cosmetics (cause I’m trying to build a professional makeup collection – trying! lol!) and anyway, I took a stop at Beauty Bar and it’s always an instinct for me to circle the entire store for all the brands even if I had no plans of getting anything there lol!

Prestige has been one of my favorite brands for their pencil products! For the price we pay for their products, we sure get something really worthwhile from it!

Today I’ll be reviewing the Prestige Browliner. It’s their version of the eyebrow pencil! Take a look and see why I love it so much! I’ll also be comparing it with my favorite Shu Uemura Hard Brow Pencil in Walnut so you need to check this out! :D
